In January, Campus Party, the largest global technology festival encompassing innovation, creativity, science, digital entertainment and entrepreneurship, and a partner of MCI Brazil since March 2015, gathered 82,000+ ‘campuseros’ from 24 Brazilian states and 18 countries for its annual Brazilian event in Sao Paulo. To host all participants, representing freelancers, innovators, entrepreneurs, public institutions, universities, venture accelerators and companies, an impressive campus of 6,500 tents was built in the Convention Center.
Some 60,000 metres of network cables, 80,000 metres of optical fiber, 40GB network speed, 13,000 registered devices, were installed necessitating more than 3,000 staff involved in the organisation.
The social media campaign around the event successfully recorded 427,000 likes on Facebook and 66,000 followers on Twitter.
The media campaign also resulted in:
- 2,180 online materials produced
- 187 printed materials
- 32 radio and 73 TV advertising spots
- and 60+ million in earned media coverage
Thanks to the 28 partnering universities, the event reached 10+ million users with tweets, and posts from partner communities reaching 429 million impressions and 201,589 clicks. As a result, Campus Party earned another 16,000 new ‘campuseros’ contacts.
