The 24th International Pig Veterinary Society and 8th European Symposium of Porcine Health Management Congress (IPVS | ESPHM) took place at the RDS in Dublin from 7 – 10 June, 2016 and brought together top veterinarians and industry experts from across the globe.
The 4 day event held in Ireland’s beautiful capital city covered important themes such as PED, PRRS, New and Emerging Diseases, Management and Reproduction. The occasion was made all the more special by the fact that this was the first time that IPVS and ESPHM had joined forces. Delegates were treated to a detailed and well-structured scientific programme along with some special activation and social events including a Horse Racing Night at Leopardstown Racecourse and a sit-down Gala Dinner in the RDS on the final day of the congress.
MCI Dublin took responsibility for this important meeting of the veterinary community, bringing to the table its expertise in Delegate Services, Exhibition & Sponsorship and Marketing. The congress achieved a record breaking attendance of 3,552 delegates and this enhanced attendance gave an increased return on investment to the 5 partner sponsors, 50 exhibitors and 10 media partners exhibiting at the congress.
This was the first year the digital landscape played a pivotal role in the promotion of the congress, with the IPVS social media pages attaining over 1.3 million impressions during the period of the event. In addition, this was also the first year a mobile app was introduced for the meeting of IPVS and proved effective in driving engagement with attendees. 3,295 users engaged with the app, accumulating over 160,000 page views.
The congress received great coverage across national and international media channels and the veterinary community are excited to see what lies in store for IPVS 2018 – taking place in Chongqing, China from June 11 to June 14, 2018.
