The 23rd World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) took place in Melbourne last month and welcomed almost 11,500 delegates from more than 70 countries.
The congress brought ITS leaders and decision makers together to discuss public policy, innovation, technology and advancements in the transport technology space, looking for solutions for a rapidly increasing population, and the technology advancements required to support it.
ITS Australia partnered with MCI Australia, to organise the five day event which set some impressive records and ground-breaking industry firsts. Officially the largest non-medical congress ever staged in the state of Victoria and among the most complex in the world, this event was also the first large scale collaboration of MCI in Australia – spanning all three divisions (Corporate, Institutional and Sustainability), engaging talent from all four local offices and involving a unique combination of efforts from six other offices from around the MCI globe.
Susan Harris, CEO, Intelligent Transport Systems Australia, said: “A key mission of the congress was to build a stronger take up of technology to deliver safer, more efficient and sustainable transport solutions to support our growing cities. The MCI team should feel proud of their part in creating this platform.”
