Happy New Year to our colleagues, clients, partners and friends.
In my own musings over the holiday break, I happened across an address that I thought particularly relevant as we start a new year. It was delivered last May by Dean James Ryan to Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Having been neither a Valedictorian (um, not even close) nor invited Ted Talk speaker, if either were to occur, I would hope to have something to say even half as pithy as Dean Ryan’s insights. And while his forum was a commencement addressing future educators, I believe his Five Questions (and one Bonus Question) can help inform the way we choose to interact with our peers, both professionally and personally.
For me, I hope it’s simple insights will help me be at my personal and professional best in 2017, perhaps it will have meaning for you as well. For those of you who have seen this previously, well, why not take a few minutes and watch it again.
Happy 2017 and let’s go the extra mile to enjoy ourselves and one another over the coming year.
