As a true market leader, MCI is uniquely positioned to deliver cost effective and value-driven solutions to events of all scales taking place anywhere in the world. More specifically, our dedicated divisions are responsible for the handling of international projects for any major public event. We create tailored solutions that include -among others- creative knowledge, architectural design, show production, logistics and content production, helping the participating entities to create unforgettable experiences.
One of these major public events MCI is involved in this year is the Astana Expo 2017, better known to the public as the 2017 edition of the world’s fair. These fairs have a long and rich history, often serving as platforms where the state-of-the-art in science and technology from around the world comes together. Continuing its legacy counting over 150 years, this year’s edition will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 10 June to 10 September, under the theme of the ‘Future of Energy’.
Only 2 days left for the grand opening, MCI is proud to announce our involvement in delivering high quality services for the Netherlands and The Holy See (Vatican) pavilion. During this 3-month event, more than 2 million visitors from around the world will have the chance to experience more than 6,000 organised thematic events on a 25- hectare newly built Expo site. With the participation of 115 countries and 18 international organisations including the UNDP, UNESCO, UNIDO and The World Bank among others, and events ranging from a global summit on “Energy Finances” organised by Bloomberg to a custom Cirque du Soleil show production, the Astana Expo 2017 is expected to be a huge success!
The Netherlands pavilion: MCI Amsterdam
The country’s pavilion, themed “Low Land, High Energy: A Mindset that Shapes the World of Tomorrow”, has been already set up, fostering innovation and commitment towards a greener future.
The Netherlands has been Kazakhstan’s largest investor for over 15 years, supporting its mission towards green energy solutions. Hence, the Netherlands pavilion reflects the country’s approach to engage visitors in discovering and embracing a new mindset through creative, future-driven and pioneering solutions. All of its four main rooms aim at challenging and educating their visitors through interactive and digital experiences.
MCI Amsterdam has been working hard to deliver high quality Operations, Hospitality and Events production services in order to ensure a smooth and unique onsite experience for all visitors. A fully dedicated team will be responsible for supporting all relevant stakeholders and contracting the best local suppliers to guarantee services of the highest standards. Employing a sporting creativity, a “think-outside-the-box” attitude – and the famous Mondrian style in clothing – the Amsterdam team has successfully weaved the Dutch culture into the pavilion!
The Holy See (Vatican) Pavilion: MCI Brussels
MCI Brussels stands behind Project Management and Communication for the Holey See (Vatican) pavilion, creating a unique experience and communicating the needs for “Energy for the Common Good: Caring for our Common Home”.
For the remarkable design of the pavilion’s overarching theme – an allegorical circular visitor experience that illustrates the symbiosis between science and faith, and calls for equitable access to energy – the Brussels team has partnered with the co-inventor of 3D projection-mapping, the highly acclaimed artist Naziha Mestaoui.
By employing innovative and awe-inspiring solutions, the team is dedicated to deliver a seamless experience through the designing, planning, building, maintenance and dismantling of the Holy See pavilion. What is more, the partnership with Nussli, the world’s largest builder of temporary structures, further ensures that the pavilion will be one of the highlights of this year’s Expo.
