On September 12, MCI USA staff set sail from the Georgetown Waterfront to celebrate our achievements for Dream Day while sharing our dreams and goals with each other.
Dream Day is MCI’s annual event held each year on or around July 1, the anniversary of MCI, where staff have a chance to focus on their dreams, either personal or professional, and develop a plan to make them happen. Each year, we set aside a day for dreaming to encourage our staff to think big, give back, and to build community.
This year, we took a cruise on the Potomac River where we had the opportunity to see Washington D.C.’s historic monuments and connect with new and veteran staff while embarking on a bingo scavenger hunt for ‘MCI Spy.’
Leading up to our Dream Day event, MCI USA also held a food drive with boxes throughout our office to collect donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Our final count was nearly 250 food items!
In October, we are looking forward to kicking off our Adopt-a-Highway community clean-up where we will be tidying up the stretch between Westpark Drive from Jones Branch Drive to International Drive near our office. Thank you to our 2017 MCI USA Dream Day Committee for a successful event!
Here’s what MCI USA staff had to say about their goals and Dream Day experience:
“I’m fortunate enough to be living my professional dream by working with top talent globally and locally in service to a diverse and exciting array of clients. To have the opportunity to lead in collaboration with such stellar professionals in the United States and throughout the world is a dream fulfilled.” – Tom Gibson, CEO, MCI USA
“For Dream Day, we wanted to give our team many opportunities to participate. We hosted a food drive in our McLean office for several weeks and collected 200+ items. It was important for us to host a drive, because even though it seems like a small gesture, we know that our donations will go to individuals and families that really need it.” – Simeonne Bookal, Manager, Events, Association Management & Consulting
“What an opportunity to dream of our growth within MCI while seeing all the historical monuments of dreamers who laid the foundations for America.” – Ashley Dowling, Coordinator, Membership & Education
“My dream is to never stop growing personally and professionally. I want to be a stronger leader and expand my knowledge of association management, so I can fulfill our clients’ missions and visions for success.” – Amy Lestition Burke, Vice President, Member Engagement, Association Management & Consulting, MCI USA
“My dream is a great team, and at MCI USA I have the honor of working alongside talents that take their work seriously and know how to celebrate our success in turn – as a Dream Team!” – Jessica Press, Senior Manager, Creative Services, MarCom & Brand Strategy
