Where do meeting and event professionals flock to for inspiration? Where can we learn the latest trends to integrate into our clients’ programs? One of our favorites is the annual conference “The Special Event.”
The conference features a tradeshow floor where over 100 exhibitors showcase the latest and greatest in linens, dishware, entertainment, lighting, décor, furniture rental, confetti canons, fireworks, technology… everything you need to bring all facets of events to life. Some of our favorites this year were very cool modular panels to use in lieu of drapes to define space. There was also a trailer full of luxurious portable bathrooms for outdoor events that require facilities. And we got totally inspired by a unique furniture rental company that offered fantastic pieces across the spectrum of themes.
In addition, there were over 50 educational sessions that attendees could pick from, across a range of tracks. MCI USA was selected to deliver a session in the Business & Professional Development track entitled “Stand Out – Propelling Your Career / Business to the Next Level.” We shared a strategy on personal brand development that was attended by over 75 conference attendees. Presenting and attending sessions was a great way to engage in dialogue with industry peers on current issues, best practices, and lessons learned.
