Network Media Partners, an MCI Group Company, collected more than 700 books as part of a Book Drive to benefit the Friends of Patterson Park. Network’s Community Outreach Committee collected donations of children’s books written in both English and Spanish, as part of an effort to provide books for the Día del Nino (Kid’s Day) at Patterson Park in Baltimore, Maryland.
“Saturday, April 28th was a beautiful day in Baltimore, made even better by the event Día Del Nino at Patterson Park in Baltimore City,” said Aisha France, Senior Traffic Coordinator, Network Media Partners. Aisha leads the Community Outreach Committee at Network.
“It is a day celebrating children with lots of free activities including crafts, piñatas, and a book giveaway. I volunteered at the event and it was awesome seeing kids throughout the day with books that I recognized from our drive.”
The book drive collected books not just from our colleagues but from other offices in our building as well.
In its eighth year, Día del Niño was held April 28 at Patterson Park. Historically, Día del Niño (or Kids’ Day) is celebrated throughout Latin America and around the world to celebrate children and youth in the community. Started in 2010 by members of our Consejo Hispano, Friends of Patterson Park’s Día del Niño Celebration is an annual outdoor event that has become a community staple.
